  ›Life Ball, the biggest Charity Event to fight HIV and AIDS in Europe, is an annual ball taking place in Vienna. Under the motto of solidarity and tolerance, the Life Ball celebrates life and unifies people of all social classes with the aim to raise money for the persons affected, but also to give information about this disease and its prevention. The opening ceremony of the ball, consisting of a spectrum of artistic program scenes and the traditional fashion show of a world famous designer, is taking place at the Viennese Rathausplatz (City Hall Square) and is freely accessible to some 40 000 visitors. Afterwards, 4000 people possessing the Life Ball ticket may enter the Rathaus (City Hall), where in all halls and courts of the building they can enjoy the live acts of international stars, exciting performances, dancefloors and rich offer in gastronomy.‹
